Westland Cricket Tournament

On the bus and away to Arthur Fong Park.

Time for a quick lunch break before game two.

Thomas came along to check out the tournament.

A little bowling practice!

The cricket pitches were in good order.
Great sportsmanship from all teams.

Spectators made themselves comfortable.
Many thanks to Jack at SportCanterbury for the organisation and to Cameron for his work on the day.

Thanks also to our team managers, Donna, Jack, Ms Panther, Ms Kemp, and Glen.

The boys played well on the day.
We all agreed that the cricket was great fun!

Happy Diwali

We have been investigating the festival of Diwali.  We completed Rangoli patterns at the end of our research.

New learning included how to wish someone a Happy Diwali.

To greet someone in Hindi for Diwali it’s best to say ‘Diwali ki Shubhkamnayein’ or ‘Shush Deepavali’. These both mean Happy Diwali.
Meanwhile in Punjabi it would be ‘Tuhanu Diwali diyan boht both vadhaiyan’ and in Marathi ‘Shush Diwali’.
Deepavali Nalvazhthukal is the best way to greet someone in Tamil.
