Beach Clean Up for William Pike Service

On Wednesday 18th September Karoro School students from Rooms One and Eight walked along the cycle way and the Karoro foreshore collecting rubbish. Sadly we found a lot of rubbish. We collected the rubbish, sorted it into rubbish and recycling, and then Mr Terry removed the bags off to Maclean's Pit. A kind loader driver lifted up the really heavy rubbish and removed it from the cycle way for us.

Nathan finds a length of rubber piping

Aimee and Brighid found so many bottles we could not retrieve them all this time.

Milan and Jennae tried pulling up a length of rope that was buried in the sand.

Hannah was horrified to find a six pack plastic ring tab.

Lincon and Clem dug up a tyre with the help of Daniel.

The girls collected bones... and could almost re-construct a whole sheep!

One of our three piles of rubbish!

Thanks to Westroads for lifting away the heavy rubbish.
